Foundations of Nature Journaling

3 week workshop from 10:00-11:30 on Wednesdays

October 8, 15, & 22

$45/person for the workshop series

$35/Nature Journaler’s Starter Kit (add-on option)

In this workshop series we will introduce nature journaling techniques and styles in the beautiful Camp Kirchenwald. Each class will include a short walk through one of our camp spaces and time to make guided observations using skills and techniques presented by our teachers.

*Caregivers, this course is focused on instruction for adults. Childcare will not be available for any accompanying children, we will not be using the “playspaces” during this course. In the future, we hope to host caregiver + child workshops for nature journaling.

What is Nature Journaling? Using words, pictures, and numbers we collect and record observations, questions, connections, and explanations on the pages of a sketchbook. These skills can be learned by anyone, and be developed with deliberate practice. You do not need to be an artist or a naturalist to begin. Nature journaling is a wonderful way to increase your connection to nature and the world around you while stretching or practicing your creative skills.
