CLASSES ARE FULL - JOIN OUR WAITLIST

Leaves to toss, boulders to climb, logs to roll, streams to explore; the enticing natural setting of Rooted & Free will draw you in to the forest and out of the confines of a fast-paced world.

Explore Together

Designed for Toddlers/Preschoolers

At Explore Together, your child and their caregiver will engage in creative nature-based play both together and with others in the class. Inspired by play schema and the natural world, the leader will present a theme and invitations to play designed to encourage children to learn about the world around them and their place in it. Opportunities to practice empathy, creativity and problem solving will be woven throughout each class as we focus on joyfully exploring together.

Who we are…

Parents. Teachers. Nature Lovers. Putting into practice what we’ve learned from time spent leading classrooms, own family explorations, and research on best educational practices.

Where we are…

Rooted & Free has partnered with Camp Kirchenwald to leverage their amazing resources to create a learning and growing environment that fosters deep and lasting connections with each other and the natural world. Though the majority of our time will be spent outside, we also have a cozy cabin fitted for even the most adventurous kids.  Plenty of time to explore their surroundings, creative games, and intentional activities will grow their young minds and bodies.

Our Mission…

Empowering children through place-based, experiential, and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that grow a child’s mind, body, and spirit while also fostering a lifelong love, respect, and understanding of nature.
